FAFSA Frenzy to be Held at College Fair
The FAFSA Frenzy event will be held in conjunction with the College Fair on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 from 6pm to 8pm at Hagerstown Community College in Hagerstown. This event is free and is open to the public and is held to encourage all graduating Washington County High School Seniors to complete the FAFSA. The event is a collaboration between the Washington County Public Schools Education Foundation, Washington County Public Schools and OnTrack.
Attendees at the FAFSA Frenzy can receive assistance filling out their 2017-2018 FAFSAs and learn about scholarships and financial aid opportunities.
The FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) is a form that is submitted each year by current and prospective college students in the United States to determine their eligibility for student financial aid. Students who are Maryland residents are encouraged to complete their FAFSAs by March 1, 2017, to be eligible for state aid. Questions regarding the FAFSA Frenzy can be directed to firstname.lastname@example.org.
All graduating seniors in Washington County who complete the FAFSA by March 1 will have their name entered into a drawing for a scholarship. Students must submit the FAFSA confirmation page at the FAFSA Frenzy event or to their High School Guidance counselor to be entered into the drawing.
The FAFSA Frenzy event will be held again in February 2017 at schools throughout the county or in local neighborhoods.
The event is currently sponsored by Hagerstown Community College, Kaplan University, USMH, and Washington County Public Schools.
